Security Officer Requirements
Requirements for AGB Unarmed Security Officers
In addition to a strong work ethic and good work record, all candidates must meet these minimum requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship or valid Green Card
- Live Scan fingerprints
- PERC card
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Drug screening and background check
- Strong communication skills, including spoken and written English
- Good personal grooming habits
- Have reliable transportation
- Honest and dependable
- Must provide references
- 20 hours of security guard training (AGB will provide this training if you are considered for hiring)
Required Training for AGB Armed Security Officers
All officers must complete AGB’s Advanced Security Training, which includes:
- Arrest procedures
- Proper use of force
- Reporting methods and techniques
- De-escalation techniques
- Site-specific training
- Anti-terrorism techniques
- SSA (Special Service Area) training
- Loss prevention
All officers must complete AGB’s Advanced Security Training, which includes:
- Escape prevention through use of force
- Shooting range safety procedures
- Proper weapons handling and storage
AGB security officers are also required to complete an 8-hour refresher course quarterly.
Minimum Requirements for AGB Armed Security Officers
All candidates must meet the criteria for unarmed officers listed above, in addition to the following:
- FOID card
- 20 hours of armed security guard training (AGB will provide this training if you are considered for hiring)
