“It’s humbling to be recognized for growth, in such unprecedented times. AGB’s mission is to eliminate economic inequities by delivering training and smart security services to protect people, property, and data.” said John Griffin Jr., CEO & Founder of AGB Investigative Services. “This achievement is a direct result of our team placing people first, while creating the highest quality services to make communities and organizations safer places to work and live.”

Since 2007, Crain’s Fast 50 feature has spotlighted local companies that have achieved impressive revenue gains over a five-year period in business, real estate, technology, health care, marketing, retail, logistics and more. As such, the project annually offers a reliable snapshot of the region’s growth sectors.

Working with accounting firm Plante Moran, Crain’s had these ground rules for choosing the 50 companies:

  • Crain’s considered only firms that have been in business since at least Dec. 31, 2014.
  • Crain’s excluded real estate investment trusts, regulated banks, real estate developers, utilities, holding companies, subsidiaries/divisions, franchises and nonprofit organizations. Small companies (those reporting less than $15 million in 2019 revenue) were likewise not considered.

The other criterion: no more than one drop in revenue from 2014 to 2019.

Since we opened our doors in Chicago in 2001, AGB Investigative Services, Inc., has grown to more than 750 employees. Our client roster includes Fortune 500 companies and a wide range of government agencies. We have earned national recognition for our innovative security services. And our work continues to expand beyond the Midwest, to both coasts and overseas. Though AGB’s heart is in Chicago, our reach and capabilities are global.
