Requirements for Guard Service Positions

In addition to a strong work ethic and good work record, all candidates must meet these minimum requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship or valid green card
  • Possess all required licenses and permits, including a valid Firearms Owners Identification (FOID) card (if seeking an armed security guard positions)
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Pass a drug screening and background check
  • Strong communication skills, including spoken and written English
  • Good personal grooming habits
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Honest and dependable
  • Must provide references
  • 20 hours of security guard training (AGB will provide this training if you are considered for hiring)

Requirements for Information Security Positions

In addition to a strong work ethic and technical skills, candidates must also meet these minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field
  • At least 5 years relevant work experience
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Pass a drug screening and background check
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Honest and dependable
  • Must provide references

Required Training for AGB Guards

All AGB guards complete our Advanced Security Training, which includes:

  • Arrest procedures
  • Proper use of force
  • Reporting methods and techniques
  • De-escalation techniques
  • Site-specific training
  • Anti-terrorism techniques
  • SSA (Special Service Area) training
  • Loss prevention

AGB armed guards also complete extensive additional training, including:

  • Escape prevention through use of force
  • Shooting range safety procedures
  • Proper weapons handling and storage

All AGB guards are also required to complete an 8-hour refresher course quarterly.
